Remembering those who have touched our lives and our hearts.
At Filipino Homecare, every client becomes part of our extended family. We carry with us the memories of those we have had the honour of caring for. This page is dedicated to the individuals whose lives we were privileged to be a part of — and whose spirits continue to inspire the care we provide every day.
"In hearts of those who loved you, you will always be there."
Dad,
We miss you every day, I miss taking care of you, helping you around the house and our trips to the Grocery Store, only to go back because you forgot something, I think you just wanted me to stay with you. You were the nicest Man I ever met, we all miss you so much,
Love you Dad

My Mother-In-Law
We spent a lot of time together in her last few years. I confided in her and assisted her with whatever she needed. Our bond grew stronger through her son, and our connection deepened. Being a caregiver allowed me to truly appreciate our shared experiences.
Miss you, Mom.
Although Diane was our client for just a short time, we felt a deep bond with her. As a retired nurse from Mount Hope, where we live, she connected with us in a meaningful way. During her difficult time, we aimed to provide comfort and ensure she received the compassionate care she deserved.
You're at peace now, Diane †
Our caregivers, Gil and Johanna, had the pleasure of caring for and spending time with "Mr. Bud." His sense of humour and attention to detail were evident, even at the age of 98. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially by those who experienced the dedication of our caregivers in providing exceptional care.
Walter Petrash died peacefully in his sleep on April 12, 2026, three days after joyfully celebrating his 95th birthday. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Corky (Anne Mosso), his son Lou (Linda), daughter Anne Marie (Kevin), his grandson Ben, and his only surviving sibling Olga Chorney of Seattle, Washington.
Born on a farm in Sundown, Manitoba, Walter headed east as a young man. He started his Ontario working life at Hamilton's Unemployment Insurance Office where he met his amazing Corky! Walter forged a career at Revenue Canada, finishing his 25 years as Toronto's Chief of Collections and Verifications. Upon retirement, he was recruited by the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C. which enabled him to travel to various countries around the world. Walter was passionate about politics, golf, the Ti-Cats & Blue Bombers, and taking care of his car! He loved spending time with family and cooking delicious meals for his friends. Walter treasured spending the winter months in Florida.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father John Denis White. Denis passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital surrounded by family. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years Marilyn and his parents David and Carmel White. Cherished father to Denis (Debbie) White of Grimsby, Ontario, David White of Oakville, Ontario and Sean (Kimberley Aalhus) White of Vancouver, British Columbia. Proud grandfather to Stephen (Alexandra), Noelle (Kevin), Kirstin and Natalie. Delighted great-grandfather to Weston. Forever in the hearts of his extended family and friends across Canada, the United States and Europe.
He will be remembered for not only his hard work and dedication to a company he founded and loved but the freedom it brought him in retirement to spend time with another great love, his four grandchildren.
Denis loved the outdoors, often walking the Bruce Trail with friends. If he wasn't on the trails, you were sure to find him with that same company at his favourite pub.
On April 14 at 10:35 am, amongst the falling rain of spring, our beloved mother Iolanda, passed peacefully from this earth to be guided through the gates of heaven into the loving hands of our Lord. Her path in this life led her through extraordinary trials which she embraced with tenacity and conviction.
Iolanda is now reunited in heaven with her devoted husband, Piero (2004). She was a loving mother to Sandra, Diana (Sandro), Tatiana (Silvio) and Cristina (Gavin). She was a proud and cherished Nonna to Dylan, Christian, Jordan (Igor), Sebastian, Mattea, Siera, and Micaela. Iolanda's legacy continues through her great-grandson, Lucas, whom she adored as a loving Bisnonna. She is predeceased by her sister Marisa (and family in Europe) and brother Attilio and survived by her sister, Liliana (and family in Sicily).
Iolanda will be remembered for the joy she found in bringing family together, whether around a table filled with her home-cooked meals, at family celebrations, or at the many cultural festivals, from CHIN picnic to Port Credit events, she cherished and shared with those closest to her. Her love was expressed through her actions; the homemade sugo, her famous bignè, the clothes she lovingly sewed for her daughters with patterns from Fabricland, and the care she poured into every detail of our lives.
Iolanda was strong and fiercely independent, a woman who worked hard throughout her life and later devoted herself wholeheartedly to caring for her grandchildren. She was always active, known for her brisk walks in her neighbourhood. She also took pleasure in the quiet moments of reading novels. She was an avid reader, from Alcott's Little Women (her favourite), to staying informed on current news events.
Her legacy is one of love, sacrifice, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a family deeply shaped by her values and forever grateful for the life she built for them. Her memory will live on; in the traditions she passed down, the lessons she taught, and in the hearts of all who loved her.
The Filipino Homecare family extends our deepest sympathies to all families who have experienced loss. The relationships we build through caregiving are lasting and meaningful, and we are grateful for every moment of trust and connection.
Filipino Homecare provides compassionate in-home care across Ontario. If your family needs support, we're here to help.
